OUR TEAM
John Sousanis
Managing Director
During his 20 years in automotive data & insights, John has worked as a market analyst, U.S. sales and production forecaster, and as head of the Wards Intelligence data and insights group.
John has authored and co-authored several special reports on fuel economy and regularly speaks to automotive professionals on topics ranging from flexible manufacturing to global powertrain trends and U.S. OEM Green Strategies.
John holds a degree from Harvard University, where he studied history and government.
Amy Alexander
Industry Analyst,
ADAS & Emerging Tech
Amy researches ADAS applications and emerging on-vehicle technology. Before joining the team, she interned at the Michigan Tech Research Institute and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
Amy graduated from Michigan Technological University with a degree in Mathematics. She earned her M.S. in Statistics from Western Michigan University while working as a teaching assistant for the mathematics department.
Erin Sunde
Industry Analyst, Fuel Economy & Emissions
Erin Sunde started her career at Wards Intelligence working with a wide variety of automotive industry data. She is currently an Industry Analyst, specializing in fuel economy regulations and strategies, along with the monthly vehicle sales forecast.
Erin has authored and collaborated on reports covering fuel economy and vehicle technology. She leads consulting projects to provide customized data and insights to industry professionals.
Erin graduated from the University of Michigan – Dearborn with a degree in Economics and Statistics.
Haig Stoddard
Senior Industry Analyst, Markets
Haig Stoddard has followed the auto industry for nearly three decades, starting as a reporter for Wards, then transitioning to automotive market analyst.
He has spent most of his career at Wards, with stints along the way at Global Insight forecasting North American vehicle production, and as a vehicle sales analyst at General Motors and Dana Corp.
Since returning to Wards, he has served as the company’s lead in-house analyst overseeing several of the information provider’s data products and tools, including North American production and sales forecasts.
Bob Gritzinger
Industry Analyst, Propulsion & Electrification
Bob Gritzinger is a veteran automotive journalist who got his first taste of grease and oil repairing lawn mowers, go-karts, motorcycles and cars in the backyard before embarking on a long professional career as a newspaper reporter.
His love of news and all things automotive came together during more than a decade at Autoweek magazine where he covered car news from around the block and around the world for the Detroit-based automotive enthusiast publication.
James Amend
Senior Editor, Emerging Tech
A Neal Award winner for excellence in business journalism, James writes about automotive business, product and technology topics. James joined WardsAuto as an associate editor in 2007 from the Associated Press in New York, where he covered intraday movement of Wall Street stocks.
He has degrees in English from Saginaw Valley State University and Western Michigan University.
A native Michigander, James is married and resides in Bloomfield Hills, MI. When he is not chasing a story, or his three young children, James follows Detroit sports and spends time outdoors.
Drew Winter
Director, Content
Drew Winter oversees agendas and editorial content for Wards conferences, including WardsAuto Interiors and User Experience Conferences and the Wards Intelligence Focus events.
He is a senior editor at WardsAuto.com where he writes and edits stories about technology, design and engines, and is a judge for the WardsAuto 10 Best Engines, 10 Best Interiors and 10 Best User Experiences.
Dave Zoia
Executive Director, Research
Dave Zoia is Executive Director of Research for Wards Intelligence.
Dave has covered the global auto industry for more than 30 years, most of that time spent at WardsAuto, where over the past decade he has led the transition from print to its award-winning digital products.
Dave has written about a wide range of topics during that time, including the emergence of the Chinese auto industry, the shift to global vehicle platforms and advances in automotive technology ranging from new electrical architectures to modern powertrains.
He holds journalism and English degrees from Wayne State University in Detroit.
